Early Literacy Tip of the Week: It's beautiful outside this time of year. Go on a nature walk. There are many literacy activities to incorporate into a nature walk! Find outside objects for each letter of the alphabet. Make letters out of items from nature. Do a scavenger hunt.

Today we are having a Tiger storytime! We have to really fun tiger stories. Instead of a bear hunt, we will be going on a tiger hunt! (Going on a bear hunt preschool song)

Literacy tip of the Week: Tell your kiddos and show them how much you also enjoy reading stories! Your enthusiasm will be contagious:-) Using funny voices in the story or doing a related activity afterward, such as "Going on a Bear(or Tiger) Hunt" show kids how reading can be REALLY fun.

We have an amazing new item available for checkout at our library! Wonderbooks, an all-in-one kids audio. We have picture books and short chapter books.

Audio versions of short chapter books are a great tool for kids with a reading level that doesn't match their interest level. Wonderbooks provide a bridge for kids to see the written words and follow along in the story with audio. Also awesome for reluctant readers, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning challenges.
