Today's storytime will be all about color! We'll learn about Van Gogh and do some zen coloring!

Literacy Tip of the Week: Color of course! Coloring builds fine motor skills and can easily be combined with learning colors, letters, etc. Have a kiddo that doesn't like coloring? Try watercolor paint, sidewalk chalk or draw in shaving cream.

We had a great science show from Secret Science and Saber Academy this week.

Today's story time is about homophones. . . . the English language is weird sometimes! We'll be reading books that play with words. 

Early Literacy Tip of the Week: Play with your words! This tip is for the older kiddos. Doing riddles and word play builds a higher understanding of our language, reasoning and analyzing.

July's 'Guess the Book' is up! Keeping with out Read it, See it theme this month. . . . Can you guess the book from the lead actor in the movie? Winner will be chosen at the end of the month!

We know how busy life gets and we don't want you to miss out on all the great things going on in the library. From here on out you can participate in the monthly "Guess the Book', even with a busy schedule! Send us a Facebook message with your answers and we'll get you name in the box for the end of month drawing!


Today we have a special storytime. We are going to read all about gardening and do fun, interactive activities! Storytime for the older kiddos at 1pm will have a special guest from 4H who will have veggies to taste and more gardening activities. Yum!

Early Literacy Tip of the Week: Cook a recipe together! Literacy and reading can be incorporated into many aspects of family life, cooking is one of my favorites. For those with reluctant readers, cooking together is a low pressure way to incorporate reading into everyday activities.
